Hi I'm new to the forums, but not to Zdaemon. There was a wad I played back in the day called Dashhq. It was an Hq wad. I've asked everybody on Irc chat to see if they had it. No one has it on there. I wasn't sure if anyone had it on here because I really would like to play it again. Please let me know if you do. Thanks.

Ignore Sks. Only 1 in 20 of his posts are useful.

I have 4 versions of DashHQ on my harddrive. You can have all of them if you want.
But you have to promise that you will only play them offline, otherwise you accept that you have agreed to have a serverban foisted on you.

I can understand why someone might come along and think the HQ maps had a bit of mysteriousness to them, but really it's nothing you want to go researching too heavily. Clans used to build (or commission) levels that were just hangouts: everyone would get a personal room, there'd be some common areas, and maybe a few secrets to find in order to prevent the whole thing from becoming completely boring. As ZDIRC developed and became the primary social medium for the community, they became obsolete.

As a general rule they only capture the essence of a minor clan at one particular moment, anyway, since the more professional clans considered the idea somewhat tacky (at least publicly.) A lot of feuds were caused by people wasting time in them and wanting adjustments to their private areas. Cybershark considers it a point of personal guilt that he was the mapper for the first one—he considers it his greatest crime, although some experts argue for the possible existence of wentirely darker and mysteriouser eldritch horrors, the remnants of which lurk only in the deepest recesses of a few far-flung floppies.
