Finally, we're ready to unleash this beast! The maplist has some fresh material in there that will require plenty of practice to tame, but there's also maps we've played through and through so you have a nice mix. We're using brackets, and each round gives you three new maps to play. The team with most flags after three maps advances. There will be a losers bracket for a second chance!

Server setup will be nothing out of the ordinary. 3vs3, 10 minute rounds, flaglimit of 5, all the usual. There will be no Overtime unless there's a tie-breaker; in which case we welcome map08 with a timelimit of 1 minute. Take a look at the maps:

If a clan is entering, as long as the roster that is originally posted is used and is not edited or changed in any way; why does there need to be a cap?

If you have 3 players +2 reserve that means any clan with more than 5 members will have to make people sit out the whole tourney - which doesnt gain anything. This includes BK, CN, CI and probably all other clans that are going to participate.

Shocked

Why participate ONLY with your own clan? It's not a rule...
If a clan drafts 8-10 players as one team then they're gonna be able to swap players around per map to suit who plays really good and where, instead of using reserves as they should be used... When the main three can't all play. A cap means more teams, not less.

It's not a rule, but you didnt say 'no clans' so of course clans will want to enter in their entirety.

As far as I'm aware, the reason for building a competitive clan is to have members who work well together as a team. The whole point of having a fruitful roster is so you CAN swap players around when some don't perform as well in certain areas that others do.
This isn't an attack at you by the way, I'm just giving my 2 cents as I don't really agree with the player cap. But obviously your decision as the tourney admin goes! <3

Sure, it's open for any team, one clan, or friends, or clan + friends. Problem is there's not a great amount of active euro clans to sign up like this. 8 team Slots, 3 active AND competitive euro clans. One clan (and more following suit) signing up an excess of reserve players which could supply the tournament with almost another entire team... I'd love to see two teams with reserves over a team with a lot of reserves.

I'd much prefer to see this executed in a specific clan-based competition like vendetta (there are intentions for such a thing soon after this tourney passes Smile). It's nice to be able to swap players around for maps they'd be best at but it's a little biased when you mix potential non-clan sign ups, and It would be great to see a solid set of 3-4 players try and adapt and put in some nice work to get used to maps they are not yet used to.

It's a very valid concern you have and I'd like to hear others chime in on it. We want to see this go as smooth as possible afterall.

I did royally screw up by forgetting to post a template for signing up, and a mention of the limit in players per team, and why.

I was really happy if saw topic EURO CTF TOURNEY. And yes it dont disappointed me if i opened thread. Awesome logo. Nice rules and maps. But guys hand on heart , i dont think we have enough quality players for this awesome tourney. They is all gone or on IDL. I dont want looks like hater or troll. I just say fact that this cant be filled 8 quality teams. If i will wrong i will gladly. But i bet your 2 cents that this never finish.

That's a lot of teams indeed. Surprised

Might have been cool if players could sign up, and then teams would be determined with a random team generator. And perhaps indeed 4 or 5 teams would be a more realistic goal to achieve.

Having a 15-men roster on a tournament, that isn't based as clans competition is an absolute non-sense. Sure, people will play with their clan-mates for obvious reasons, but that's a different story.

I would make teams smaller rather than bigger, but I agree with 3+2. Pretty good compromise, which should work for both sides, as it gives the flexibility to teams. By the way, since someone here mentioned Vendetta: in the second tournament, [D] were switching players more than anyone, and even they were using 5 specific players in the most important games. Two stable defenders and specialist on each map as a third. Different example would be UBR in the third tournament, which signed up shitload of players, yet you couldn't make them play unless they had their top 3 online. That eventually pissed off some other team(s?) as they refused to play UBR with some of their weaker members.

Just to be clear, I'm not attacking anyone here. Just saying that having a huge amount of reserves doesn't help the tournament. Five players is plenty... Also, I hope BK will sign up two 3+1 (or 3+2, whatever) teams, so they can battle it out in the finals, as Marax pointed out. Smile

Capo, please stop using this "IDL has it different" argument on every single league/tournament that happens on Zd. Negativity won't help anyone.

Evo, as soon as we'll sort our line-up with dew, we'll register. Question: it's not mandatory to have 2 replacements, is it?

CN: sign up! We'll have a clan CTF group instead of brackets.
