After some feedback from Evo and InsaneKid I changed my map a bit. I think this should improve gameplay. Check it out:

This is an improved version of Construction Site map: http://speedy.sh/8f7g2/Koth-Construction-Site10.zip

List of Improvements:
- Central area is cleared of some obstacles. Now picking ssg and advancing to central area is supposed to take less time. Anyways if while testing it looks like more obstacles should be deleted or replaced, thats easy to fix.
- Added some shortcuts, now you can jump from rl to a box and use it to access the koth area; theres a box stair too.
- Deleted the first door of sniper path (railgun). It seems that narrow passage blocked players who took it o.o
- Added pushers in tunnel so player gets a speed boost; I will place some fans at the beginning of such tunnel to simulate wind pushing player. (When I find a rotating fan texture o/)
- Replaced soulsphere with a megasphere. I know taking the sphere is a bit difficult and takes some extra seconds and that should be rewarded :]

Ill think tomorrow about how can I fix Dome map... Ill try adding some pushers like I did with this map's tunnel but dont know if it will be effective...

Fixed version of dome: http://speedy.sh/ZVt78/DomeFixMap15.zip (Updated)

- Added several shortcuts (pushers) and seems they work pretty well, now player should be able to reach the top in 4-5 seconds.
- Changed position of SSG and RL, RL now takes the place of SSG and SSG is now placed closer to dome.
- Added minor detail.

Nice, another map! Hrm, there are some floors that doesnt appear probably because you tested the map with other port and assigned a wall texture to them; zdaemon needs wall textures to be converted into floors otherwise it will display this: :]

Map seems intense, you can reach koth point in few seconds, dont know if this will be a problem since some of the maps we played had the hill so near that was almost impossible for a team to score, it was more like a Team DM heh... Anyways its a matter of testing it I suppose Cool

Yes, and I think it is time we are going to do a proper test. I believe there are 8 maps now, counting Jaundice’s submission as well. What about a dedicated session on a Tuesday night like we did with the King of the Hill mappack? That session was a great success. If we manage to get the same attendance we had during that session, the maps will get some proper testing.

Guess we'll have to rename the map CHECKERS OF DOOM!

I wasn't aware that ZD was particular about that - that just may cause me to have to go through that entire map and fix everything Sad I may get around to it at some point, but I've got a busy week coming up! Off Topic: My busy week = 3 ships with 4500-6000 pallets of Del Monte fruit equalling to about 1000 trucks throughout the week that need to get loaded properly, on top of having to do payroll and safety inspections. If you eat Del Monte fruit, thank me Razz

New Download Link

I fixed the textures/flats issues with my map and even added some more fun stuff. I too was concerned about speed issues, as in getting to the hill very fast, so I closed off one of the routes, but made it a good spam/defense point:

Then I added switches on both teams sides. Let me take some time to explain. The aforementioned spam/defense point is great because the opposing team can see right when you're trying to control the hill and can take you out before you score, BUT if you hit the opposing enemies' switch, it raises a platform that stays put for about 8 seconds, granting you time free from the defense point:

Which results in:

It's a raising! It moves slow too, for added drama Razz

Blue team's switch.

The end result Smile

Let me know what you think, hopefully with some playtesting it'll be a worthwhile and strategic map Very Happy

I whipped together another map for KotH. This one is a bit larger and takes place in the void, because I love those style maps Very Happy

The turbo lift is quick, but it's a tight squeeze around it!

Many paths will take you there, but only one leads to victory.

Go! Go! Go!

The hill in all its splendor. Take the ramp, or cross the bridge - either way it'll be a fight to keep it under your control!

That's a lot to have on one person's plate lol, but I think KotH is going to take off, so no worries - let me know when that pack is done, and we'll do a ZD Session for it Very Happy I think with my maps submitted we're up to about 10 maps so far?

I now give you "Spyral" - the twisty map with a large outside path as an alternate path that rewards your time with a rocket launcher and a turbo boost to the bottom floor! Railgun sniping will be key in this one, as well as strategically preventing your enemy from reaching the hill!
