When I use Fraps with ZDaemon, it completely DESTROYS the framerate beyond the point of unplayability.

I capture Amnesia gameplays just fine at the same resolutions and capture framerate (and somehow I think Amnesia uses slightly more power).

Anyone know why this could be?

What version of FRAPS you have? Newer versions have "Lock framerate" option where if you let it unticked, you dont get slowdown.

Well sir...that seemed to be the problem.

Laughing I am in no way used to problems being solved that easily. It almost feels like I cheated.

Alrights, I have a question about FRAPS as well.. And since the problem above is solved and I don't feel like creating a separate topic I'll ask it here.

Is it a good idea to use 35 FPS setting? My current version of FRAPS doesn't seem to have "lock framerate" option btw..

I also found that recording zdaemon then playing it back in windows media player completely screws up the playback. If that becomes a problem, then import the footage to movie maker and watch it. Also, make sure you're recording in fullscreen, it helps a bunch.
