My maps, empyrion_b24a.wad, are named EMP01, etc instead of MAP01, etc so that they can easily be played with other maps. My 9 maps (01 - 08 and 32) plus skepland's 3 maps would make 12 maps. My maps have been played successfully in FMM and SNS (in survival mode). Adding my silly sounds, empsndb2.wad, is optional.

I haven't looked at skepland, so I don't know if it messes with the textures, which matters because my maps use the standard doom2.wad textures. Just now, I tried to use getwad to find skepland.wad, but had no luck.

During TNS #139, Alteus asked for tips about what we could play next. So I went through my 5 GB archive of various WADs (all of which I've played over the last 15 years) and through my memory and I put together some candidates:

Ultimate simplicity (Agent Spork) - 20 short (approximately 80 monsters each) modern maps, MP-ready. They contain virtually no narrow passages, so I guess they would be pleasing to play in TNS.

Stardate 20X6 (Ribbiks) - 8 super hard maps, MP-ready. Really nice ones, but I'm not sure how long we would last in them.

Shai'tan's Luck (Christopher Shepherd) - 10 maps, 3 last ones contain 1500+ monsters. Would go nicely together with Stardate 20X6, but the maps are not MP tested. MAP28 has probably the best music track I've ever heard in a WAD.

Vae Victus 1 and 2 (Dittohead) - each WAD contains 7 maps, so you would have to join them. Most maps are nicely open and have between 100 and 500 monsters. Allegedly MP-ready.

The Twilight Zone II: Final Dreams (Paul Corfiatis) - megawad, most maps have 100 to 200 monsters. MP-ready. Unfortunately contains some weird custom monsters and sprites.

Doom Core (Valkiriforce) - MP-ready megawad, most maps have 100 to 300 monsters. Probably the best candidate of the lot.

Reverie (Michael Jan Krizik) - megawad, allegedly MP-ready. Most maps contain no narrow passages. Low difficulty, most maps have around 100 monsters on average.

Vilecore (Darren Finch A.K.A: Doom_Dude) - megawad, partially MP-tested. Maps typically have 100 to 300 monsters. Pleasing to play in SP, but most maps unfortunately have narrow passages.

I just remembered Nova: The Birth, though I'm not sure whether it was already played in TNS:

http://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/66581-nova-the-birth-beta-playtesting-thread-were-ready/

Most maps have 100 to 200 monsters. 3 or 4 maps have 500+ monsters.

I believe you totally missed the boat unfortunately. Which map did you create for this project? Sad Maybe it will come around again, perhaps on a near future Friday Night Monstermash? I believe this community project meets all our necessary qualifications: a) it is not garbage b) it is an SP/COOP mapset & c) It is not overly convoluted and there is a method to the overall state of madness. et cetera, you see. Plus Ronald is busy building an atomic bomb these days.

I just remembered another map pack which would IMO be great for TNS - Suitcase of GOR:

http://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/66763-release-suitcase-of-gor-former-d2redux/

It is 22 maps, heavily inspired by original Doom 2 maps. Most of them contain 100 to 200 monsters, but don't let that fool you - they can be quite treacherous due to some nasty traps. The first 6 or 7 maps are easy, but it gets much harder after that (especially MAP10 comes to mind). Perhaps more importantly, the maps contain virtually no narrow passages and appear to be MP-ready.

@L1T: We did d2twid a few sessions back.

@Caleb13: Yup, suitcase is on our soon-to-be-played list, it's been long enough since we did d2redux + there indeed are 11 additional maps not played in TNS yet Smile And as for nova, that one now already has a slot reserved Razz

Holy wow, I'm entirely certain that doesn't work in ZDaemon, but I commend your memory. Geez, that came in the mid 2000s, and had its genesis at zdoom.org, no less! Perhaps NeoDoom could be simplified in a weird way to accommodate ZD. NeoDoom was pretty funny at times. You do know that the author, Daniel, was a productive constructor of porn wads back in the day. So you have to be aware that some of that is going to seep in, one way or another. Laughing

I actually tried hosting Neodoom on Zdaemon, but for some reason when I started the server, none of the monsters spawned.

The only other wad that would be cool to see on TNS would be Holy Hell. Probably would lag, though.

I just finished my run through Five Rooms of Doom and I think some of its maps could be used in TNS, especially the ones near end. Maps 08, 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30 would be probably the best of the lot, because they have open-arena-type layout. Maps 25 and 28 are similar, but contain long and annoying puzzles.

The mapset is currently in its betaversion, so I suppose we could help squash some bugs, too:

http://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/61836-five-rooms-of-doom-32-32-second-beta-released-download-now/

But it would be best if we waited for beta 4 (if there will be one), where they hopefully fix Map29 and other bugs...

Here's a semi-serious request:

Caco Invasion.

Anyone remember that old WAD?

This is a total conversion for zdoom of the n64 fps "GoldenEye." I have had a hard time finding this wad myself, but I know it is out there. I am sure the TNS organizers would be able to find it. This was one of my favorite childhood games for the n64 and so doom version of it sounds cool.

I think Katamori's Somewhere In Time megawad would be really fun for TNS. Would give plenty of room to play later rotations since it stops at MAP15.

Have you, by any chance, been reading the last Newstuff Chronicles too? Smile This wad caught my attention as well, but I haven't tried it out yet...

I did get the chance to play through the WAD when it first came out, and it plays much like any other old-school set we've been going through on TNS. I'd say it has a lot of potential for people getting massacred. Smile

And yes, I did notice it under newstuff recently, lol.

I have a wad that I've been working on since January. I just recently finished map 16, so I'm half way through, but would like to release those maps to be played, and get some feedback. The wad has been tested and cleaned up, so it's ready to go. There is a possibility of a mistake here and there, but it should be error/bug free. Or at least I'm hoping.

So if it's okay, I would like for my wad to be featured on a TNS. Let me know, I can send whomever it may concern a download link and they can look at it and make sure everything is in order.
