"Deus Vult" or "Deus Vult II"
"Claustrophobia 1024" or "Claustrophobia 1024 2: The Mystery of Too Many Maps" :PPP (although these might be way too small)
Or maybe we run some 'easier'/smaller maps with nightmare enabled so people have to play a bit quicker to reach the exit alive Wink

Keep in mind that these suggestions are made without knowing anything about their potential quality/applicability for a TNS session.
Fairly sure that some coop experts (DEWWW) can give further comments or suggestions.

deus vults with more lives (say 3?) could be real fun. tackling them with single life would be frustrating.
claustrophobias are tiny, some of the maps would play like the ship in uacultra. :p
how about icarus? i have to admit i've never played the megawad past the first few maps and i wouldn't be opposed to exploring it with company. :)

I'd like to do Epic 2 for a TNS starting with Map12 (the alien ship). I've already played the beginning Egyption maps. Maybe do either one long session or do one session for the Alien Ship (through Map20) and one for the ending egyption part (Map21 through 30).

This may change however if I can get someone to join me on that wad's survival server. That would void or change the maps of the suggestion.

What about THE (1st ever?) survival megawad made especially for zdaemon (thanks to krawa´s hilarious survival script that made this whole fun possible on zd) and now available in a freshly patched version? ...x-noob survival Laughing

Does phenex2 know all secrets of "Deus Vult" ? (map01 ~ map04)

Well, here's one nobody's mentioned that might make for a fun quick blastfest, Mini-level megawad:

http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15837

Fun maps and surprisingly tough too. No massive maps either.

Also, Reverie which has recently been released. From what I've played so far, it's pretty awesome.

EDIT: Finally can add this suggestion to the list now...

http://jimmy.phenomer.net/wad-files/jenesis.zip

Final version of Jenesis has been released. There's plenty enough differences to make this worth going through again such as more maps and other minor changes Very Happy .

I like all the suggestions recently. Smile Mini-level Megawad would be especially good because there's hordes of monsters and it's an overlooked release to boot. In a similar vein of style, the near-completed Khorus' Speedy **** (don't let the name put you off) seems equally worthwhile.

However, there is one megawad that IMO absolutely, positively MUST get played, start to finish in these sessions that has not been started or even suggested as of yet: The Great Bicycle Mystery 2, by The_Cupboard and Worst-vd-Plas. It's a full, 32-level adventure that comes complete with the normal good designs, but it contains a rarely seen sense of humor (even funniness) in its storyline - however what is most important is that the whole thing is actually designed specifically FOR co-op play, meaning arguably more effort has been put into co-opmitizing this than even making it a good solo megawad as well (which it is). I absolutely just remembered this today but I'm actually very surprised no one has mentioned it previously, because for all the hard work put into making a megawad that actually FOCUSES on co-op play, and has such a stylish plot to boot, it would be arguably criminal to not give it a go on TNS. So here's the link: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15818

As a few extra notes, while the wad has a "2" in its title, don't bother with the first Great Bicycle Mystery because this is a 100% revamped version of it accompanied by equally as many new levels to boot. Also, specific setting recommendations are given right in the accompanying text file, which can be modified if intended to make a harder challenge or cover the fact that there could be more than 8 players, but the overall guidance is right there!

To add some humor to anybody's maps, you could add my silly sounds: http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/empsndb2.zip Every sound is completely made from scratch, and it's rated G, good clean fun.

I know this wad is overplayed and all, but one of my favorites is d2reload. Having this played with over 20 people sounds like it would be a new experience at least

I'm changing this to a FMM recommendation instead (I was not aware what FMM was when I first posted this). I put a smaller post up on the FMM recommendations thread, which also references this post. I still believe it very much should be used for a planned session. Smile

I do think starting Jenesis over again (saw it above) is warranted for a future TNS. I actually like choices that are more moderate in the slaughter category for TNS games. The monster-heavy stuff is excellent for FMM. After this week Eternal Doom also still needs to be finished BTW. (Although, given the enormous scale, might want to divide that into THREE parts.)

I want to suggest Kama Sutra. This wad's gameplay is bloody excellent and the authors made a big effort to make it coop-friendly.

How about playing Armadosia? I've not seen this wad hosted in any server and its quality isnt bad. The difficult isnt extreme but a 2x damage will do it. Very Happy

Map01 Gameplay (With Inheritance wad): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXl_43FMcJ8

Wad: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/?id=14197

PD: This is my first post. Wink

Edit: I've realized that the wad has player 1 start only, but i offer myself as a volunteer to fix that to xx players. I think the maps are big enough for coop play.

I'd like to see Armadosia session too. Nice classic gameplay, the maps are massive but not confusing (for the most part).

Rf, if you are going to edit this wad, you might as well fix the bugs listed here Smile - http://www.doomworld.com/vb/post/941983
