Here is the plan, a weekly public ctf event that everyone can play and is fun!

We need to get more people involved as games have sort of died off in Europe and nobody will play outside of private circles or private games.

This is why i am introducing these weekly events, to take over as many public servers as possible and have a good time.

This is open to anybody and i encourage everybody who can to attend i am starting this off as a European objective as i believe in North/South American there is already a lot more happening at the moment. But i encourage anyone form anywhere to attend.

All new players, old players, bring your friends and lets get as many servers full as possible every wednesday.

If this takes off and gets popular i will sort out some servers with different wads and we can get 3/4 way going aswell! I have a lot of plans for this so make sure you turn up so we can get some games going.

If you have any suggestions please let me know and see you on Wednesday!

Yeah this was really great. The server has been busy (full most of the time) for over two hours now and it's still going. I really enjoyed this. I hope we can get this officially supported and maybe mess around with some other map packs etc.

I think next week if the server is full for a while one or two of us should jump to another server to kick that off.

Yeah it was another fun round of games. Next week we should try and do it on a 1.09 server. Would anyone be able to provide a public one?

It took a while to get going this week, but we still ended up with a full server for an hour. Tox can we change the server to a 1.9 one?

Anyone who played ZDS last week, would agree that it was awesome. Nice short entertaining maps, and it would be cool for more people to try them out, because they deserve some more 'play time' in my opinion.

I think absolutely we should play on a 1.9 server, I sat in the 1.8c server to kick it off only because I didn't want to step on Tox's toes. Hopefully he'll change the server to Krawas.

It would also be great to get a bot announcement on IRC the same way that ZDS and FYBO do. Personally I would play a standard 1.9 next week and then maybe we can do those maps you mentioned Swift the week after.

Let's see what Tox says.

And Krawa thanks for providing all of these great 1.9 servers, they're fantastic Smile

Hey i've been working shifts so havent been around much sorry.

But yeah 1.09 would be good on the XXX server so we can kick it off with that and i think we should get a standard week of 1.09 first to test the water then next week we could start introducing other wads e.t.c, what are peoples opinions of this?

Also it would be great if i could get a couple of other people to help me run this as work commitments are a bit hectic atm!

Tonight we'll move Tox's CTF sesh to a 1.09 server:

It'll kick off officially at 19:00 BST (18:00 GMT). The server normally fills up during the first half hour so get in there quick if you want a spot. Maybe next week we'll run a different WAD, but tonight it's gonna be all of the ZDCTF maps.

It seems a few people had problems with the server so if people can post what their gripes were with it, maybe we can try somethign else next week.

Some of the Euro players left the server and started a priv during this, which obviously people are free to do as they please, but the whole point of this was to get Euro games going again. Running off starting a priv session at the same time is counterproductive imo and a little mean spirited just because we weren't moving server there and then. If you guys had stayed around you would have seen that I asked everyone if they wanted to move server at the end of that game.

Despite this the server has still been full for well over an hour which is still great to see. The server also filled up much quicker this week which was great.

Maybe we should try a different WAD next week? What does everyone think? Hopefully Tox will be back and can take care of it, but if not I don't mind filling in again.
