The teleport thing? Well yeah, that works too. It's just not something traditionally seen in DM maps for the precise reason that it introduces too much unpredictability. |

In my opinion..I've been playing Doom 2 since it came out circa 1995.
and I can say that..Doom 2 was made indeed for the purpose of frag kills with barrels..otherwise they would not explode with such a blast radius..I'm a coder, and everything has a radius..the fellows at idsoft used this for a reason, and your a newb...You should change your strategy..to include barrels + people in your equasion so you don't suck as bad..It's always been this way and your not up for it..well die with the wretched..I will always be a doom supporter when it comes to doom and doom2..they were in fact what made me start coding and developing games..which now I develop my own 3d engines.and such..but yes I've got killed by barrels..and I don't regret it..I love it...use that as an advantage..the only thing I don't like are the BFG spammers..but then they were included in the game so I can't complain..so quit whining..N00b
Ahh..the telefrag implement..this was introduced with Zdaemeon..this wasn't the original game..you had no teleport like you do in it..so I say insta teleport..and you get a chance to get instakilled.. your entering a territory that is unknown...let's say the world goes after a certain country and used a teleport device into a base that had 500 people guarding it..do you think they would take mercy on you? such as a new game uses..unhonorable kills..or something? no not in this game..your on mars..you get killed thats it..come back to life which is a miracle on its own..so..quit yur harpin.. |

I fail to be convinced of the logic here. If barrel-frags are flawed, then so are many, other things in this game. Environmental kills are used in other games in this fashion, like cutting a rope to release.. barrels, or dropping sand blocks on someone to suffocate them (yes that does count as points in SMP) |
