This is a new ctf wad made by : Fsn76, FranckFrag, Chaindude and I. It only contains 10 maps for the moment, but we intend to make other levels in the future.
This is for 5vs5, but some maps are also perfect for 3vs3. Very Happy

These maps look amazing, they really do Very Happy However, playtesting will really tell if they are good fun to play or not (they certainly look it Razz) So I'm going to host this in place of [THE] Server #10, to get a bit of popularity going Razz Some of you Frenchies already realize that [THE] Servers are the best for France, as I've been countlessly told, so should be good seeing as it's all you guys made the maps Smile

Good job guys, we certainly need new CTF maps, and these certainly look fresh and fun Cool

EDIT: Server now running, I also took the time so that the hostname now shows the current map's name, incase it helps Razz If you want the map author included just ask Rolling Eyes

(and no Stealth, we don't need new maps, just for players to realise there's plenty out there already)

i saw this in some final testing something-or-other earlier today and wondered just what the deal was. looking at the names attached then this should be awesome quality and guaranteed good hosting and popularity.

looking forward to playing it and i hope it helps fuck ZDCTF up the ass Smile

Yeah, I definately see this as a welcome replacement to zdctf, I can see myself wasting hours away on a majority of these maps.

There was one map that kind of bothered me... Unholy War, it has blue armor right out in the open, and its a blatant rip-off of zdctfmp1 map01, fortress collision. guess theres more things that bother me, but you all don't care about that, play your games, its fun... for now.

Chaindude's map kicked this wad's ass into the good though, definately my favorite of this pack, albeit quake-y* its the best out of them all, Aztec Ruins following close behind in my favorites out of this pack. I wanted to like The Lost Cathedrals, but there was just something about it to me that felt unwell. anyway, cool pack, good to see some mappers getting together to put something forth as always. Wink

Hmmm I played or watched maps on RFA Dallas: 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...

Map 9 was by far the best of those first one I played actually made me think wow this really has a chance to be good... But map 10 was up next which is basically like floating cities with rails a little better than it though, my opinion is never make a CTF map with the only transportation being jump-pads they just don't work.

Another map I liked was Map 05 it played well but having rails with that big of middle(compared to the rest of the map) might be end up being an annoying problem there..

Map 8 I spawned outside where there was no weapons or way to get back in as did some others I just quit then though so I can't really rate that map it needs to be fixed regardless...

I might edit this later and add the other 4 I played...

I love the map, but one of the levels has a bug in it where you get stuck in an outside area with no way of getting to the main playing area.

Dmflags2 problem : "Compatibility with the old CTF" will treat all the particle fountains (red and blue) as teamstarts, so it should be removed Razz

Map08 the blue team spawns outside and can't get into any action. This might've been due to incorrect DMFlags but other then that, I love these maps.

I asked [RFA] to set a server on Dallas Wink it's up now.

Just a problem on MAP08, when you join the game it seems that you spawn outside the map, I mean on the part that you can see through windows.

Australians had a first bash at this epic wad, with mixed results.

The map08 spawns has been mentioned already.

The only constructive criticism I can give, is convert buttoned doors to linedef-activated doors. Annoying having to turn, press a button, and then go through a door (or grill) - especially when you are trying to return the flag in a hurry.

Some maps were *cough* ripoff *cough* of the original zdctfmp maps, but otherwise it shows promise. Probably needs more gameplay to fully appreciate, but overall I'm excited about a new ctf rotation.
