QZDoom software renderer, has ability to render in 32bit color, truecolor, with true fading / fogging , has ability to do LINEAR magnification and minification like OpenGL do it, but in software mode, most exellent Doom Software rendered engine.

It would be great if this render will be used in this source port.

To do that, they would have to start making ZDaemon all over again from scratch.

Zandronum supports all that fancy new stuff, OpenGL doom and better visuals, brutal mods etc. ZDaemon is close to the old and classic DooM feel (by the visuals at least), and was intended to be looked like that.

Nostalgia of good ol' days man...

As I understand it, over the years, the ZDaemon devs have integrated their code deep inside the ZDoom 1.2 engine that ZDaemon is based on. To change the engine, they would have to throw away well over a decade's worth of work and start making ZDaemon all over again from scratch. That's not going to happen, and even if it did, it would be basically a whole new port and not ZDaemon at all.

no opengl , no new port, just 32 bit truecolor rendering with software implementation of linear filtering, thats all done in QZDoom software render.
i don't think is heavy rewriting from scratch, its backporting two features.

at least just one from QZDOOM or ODAMEX, 32 bit truecolor,
And probably linear filtering from QZDOOM or Unreal or from Engoo (quake1 source port byleileilol)
