I'm not sure, but I think it is a packet sent from the server to the client that is incomplete. |

A packet is a small segment of data traversing between the server and the client.
a packet can:
-arrive properly
-arrive late (eg. the second segment arrives before the first segment)
-get lost on the way (eg. faulty wire, overloaded router, blocking firewall etc...)
-get damaged (the receiving side cannot get useful information out of it due to the degradation caused by the damage)
So the error generally means that the receiving side cannot interpret the packet for some reason. |

but then this is something on the Server side and not because of a person's lag, that is what I used to think.
Realized it once one player had said "bad packet 1001" right on the intermission screen then the rest would respond
"bad packet bad packet whats that"
"yea wtf I thought it was just me"
"hey yeah"
...blabla bla bla |
