Currently Zdaemon uses the Speex codec for voice audio.

From http://www.speex.org/

—The Speex codec has been obsoleted by Opus. It will continue to be available, but since Opus is better than Speex in all aspects, users are encouraged to switch—

Opus is open and royalty-free, and would only benefit the ZDaemon experience.

Additionally, it'd be nice to have more configuration control over voice audio, such as the sampling rate, bit rate, channels, and noise suppression control (from off to -60 dB for ex.) Would love to see this integrated in a future version!

I agree and I'd like to bump this up for sounds / music aswell. Since ZDaemon uses FMOD, I assume all it needs is an upgrade?
