|To clarify first: IDE can be used here. If this wasn't the case, the message displayed below would not mention it to start with.
Is the following being received when you attempt to connect to a public server?
"No authentication data. Please use ZLauncher or IDE while logged into ZDaemon"
If yes, you'll need to make sure that the following is done:
1) Make sure that you're logged into the "ZD Scoreboard"
2) In Options -> Appearance&Functionality, make sure that the following is disabled:
[ ] Do NOT communicate with the master
3) Make sure the following is enabled in Options -> Launch Game Parameters:
[X] Verify ZDaemon player name
4) make sure that you don't have "+name" defined anywhere.
Once all of the above has been verified, you should be able to connect without a problem.
If you still end up receiving the same message regardless, it is strongly recommended that the ZLauncher is used instead.
