Expect some old school map design this week as we head back to 1998. This one is an interesting blend of Heretic, Hexen, Rise of the Triad and some others, all under the name of science... and doom.

Oh wow, vewy vewy nice. Admittedly, this pack is rough around the edges; the author had a real spark though, and you can see the glimmer of talent most of the way through! All of the guy's skills came to fruition for Herian 2. Just balls to the wall sense of adventure and puzzle solving on the later maps. I have so many fond memories of LANing that shit.
Awesome you chose something very overlooked nowadays! If connection holds out I'll try to appear on the American side. |

Herian was so awesome that we decided to ration it slowly and we played ScytheX. We had a lot of fun with that one (beat 5th rotations!).
1st rotation: normal settings.
2nd rotation: Pain (2x dmg and fast monsters)
3rd rotation: randomization active and fast monsters.
4th rotation: TOTAL randomization, every monster could be replace by any other type... so we got some cool maps with 4 destructors, plenty of archies and... shooting rockets pillars... That didn't prevent us to beat the pack though
5th rotation: realistic mode! we activated x100 damage received from the monsters, hitscanners are your worst nightmare here... o/ |

All modes were cool and different, it's a bit surprising how much fun we had with just 10 very short maps! I say we should pay more attention to shorter wads in the future, there is some great potential in them. |
