Hello ZDaemon Session people,
This weekend we will play HEADHUNTER for ZDS.
That's a team mode based on a Quake mod of the same name.
Everytime a player is fragged they leave a skull behind.
Collect enemy skulls to score, and pick up your own team's to stop the enemy team from scoring.
More about Headhunter.

I remember giving it a try at one point. It probably could have worked better if Doom didn't feature such high player movement speed along with close-range SSG as the most used weapon. You pickup the enemy's skull immediately after killing them with SSG pretty much every time, and you run around with SSG nearly all the time as well, so the entire idea of skulls appears to be a minor change from ordinary TDM. This really depends on the maps though; more of rocket/plasma/rail/chaingun fights could probably improve this a lot.

Yeah, you're right about those close SSG kills. But, for BFG wipeouts or projectile spamming, skulls may not always be so easy to harvest.
As you say, it's quite dependent on the maps. But perhaps the best fit for this mod would be running it with instagib on?

Didn't really get chance to find out at the weekend, as we just had a few 2on2 games. Doesn't look like Euro did any better from Krawa's screenies.

Yep, right as I said, it's probably better when gameplay is focused on other weapons too.

Sounds neat.

My mouse is broken. Shitty that I had to miss this one. If my soldering iron was here it would take five minutes to fix. In the mean time I'm installing wallhacks so I can start keyboarding, full-time.
