Time for another TNS! This week our crew has chosen something more complex to go through: Armadosia. This wad was released in 2006 and we think it is an overall nice mapset with some nasty traps and surprises. Levels are long and simple mapped and not very focused on slaughter action but tactic and closed combat.

Join us this thursday as we try to explore the depths of this jewel!

Since this wad uses Doom II custom music, suggestions about playing it with a music pwad are welcomed. Psxmus is a good one IMO (creepy but maybe size is too big) and memfis also suggested using MM's music pwad. Feel free to mention others.

I actually compiled a music wad for the first half of Armadosia yesterday. I tried to match the mood of the levels and to keep the styles varied. What do you think about it?

The reason it's so big is because many of the "tunes" are (wastefully) duplicated in the WAD. There is a smaller version out there which is only ~20meg (rather than ~50meg) that just requires a small patch to make it useable on Doom2 maps Wink

Hmm, don't get me wrong, I like mowing down monsters as much as the next guy, but something intrigues me about mapsets with traps/surprises. I might have to be counted in. : )

Well, that was what this looked to me when I played it (years ago). With our actual number of marines in session maybe are monsters the ones that get a nasty surprise Razz

Edit: that makes me wonder if a weak respawn mode should be used (something like monsters respawning between a 4-8 minutes interval) in order to boost the action.

I've been having some network issues for the past few days. Among other things, I can't log in to the ZD master and thus I can't even go to IRC or play Armadosia with you tonight Sad 'Ducks' servers also seem to be zombified on an old IP address ... some really strage things going on on the network here, a lot of communication getting lost.

To other admins: I'll post information and wad links for this session in the internal thread.

Damn, I saw your pms when evo told me in irc. Yeah tested new ammo and weapon scripts and they work flawless.

We only did 1st rotation of armadosia, by popular demand we changed later to Vanguard ;p.

Edit: have just disconnected from serv, we did two rotations (normal+pain) and by the time I got 3x dmg -fast and vampire in 3rd rota there were few people left aww.

Just for fun we played today a mode with 100x damage taken from monsters... Behaviour was not like expected Razz Even with gamemode being survival you could frag your own teammates with BFG, RL or railgun lol. The good part of it is that it didnt count as a death.
