I havent been able to play this multiplayer yet but this is a sweet map. It definitely reminds me of quake 3s dueling. I love the fact some of the walls have little jump bits where if you jump you can jump again and get to a higher place, not always the same path. The bfg is abit nuts with the two jump pads but meh it's a weapon to die for. This feels and looks like a solid NS map maybe at some point I can play it in a duel rather than looking around!

I'm glad you like those walls because it wasn't intended , it was part of the detail. Laughing

I played it again as multiplayer and got to say the server needs to not have instant switching and less air control, I can cheat and get onto the bfg by just jumping with the air control also the instant switching needs working as i can do chaingun/ssg combos out of no where which isn't that fair.

It plays really well in a duel you can control the middle, control spawns well. the rocket launcher is cool on this map (speed up etc) makes it a good viable weapon to smash someone head to head.

Cant fault anything on the map other than it just needs the right settings for it to work really well.

Jo. Just hosted with the recommended settings. Removed Instant Weapon Switch and lowered Air Control now. Hope this fits better.

Good news ! Very Happy , here is a update of the map which it fixes a stairs bug and a couple of unaligned textures.

Download

There is uptdate of the DMFLAGS in the topic and the .txt file (Thanks Fuffles for the settings suggestion)

Also Dannyboy decided to run a tourney with this wad , click here to view the tourney details:

Hey , i like this map , i like weapons placement , layout at all, but what i have problem here is colors. I wasnt never so cunfused like here. Bcz all respawn points looks quite same. So i am always very confused where i am lol. I think more cool colors for differentiate spawn points could help this map a lot.

In taking a quick look at this in single player mode, I really like the way it looks and feels. The music, architecture, and textures all contribute to an intense, face-paced feel, similar to that of CDuel_.

I like the lighting effects that you've used around the ceiling lamps and at the BFG location. The windows looking out to the horizon, detail work on the buildings and banner in the upper vertical area, slow moving sky, colored door textures, and particle fountains are also nice.

Looking forward to seeing this one played...

Yeah I know most of the textures are brown , but I tried to make the recognisable parts of the map with the structures and detail so I don't think it should have more colours.

One of my goals was trying to make an immersive atmosphere , something like a rusted and abandoned space station.

There is one bug I did notice while playing games on this map, next to the BFG if you shoot rockets to try and kill anyone getting the bfg they fly through the wall. Might want to reinforce that wall somehow.

ok i just checked. two reasons for this anomaly:
1. the rockets are modded to fly faster.
2. the walls are too thin.

it also happens in zd 1.08 and the latest zdoom so its a modding/mapping issue.
