No idea what you mean: please explain.
For example, I have 100 demos with same players/event/date, POV and description.
How about a txt file that we could use as a template for demo details?
txt would be like this:
Gametype: 0, 1, 2,...
Title:
Description: (<br> or something for break lines)
WADS: (separated with ,)
MAP:
Player1:
Player1_country:
Player2:
Player2_country:
Player3:
Player3_country:
...
POV:
URL:
Ofcourse, if something is left out it in txt it would be ignored in import. |

So basically a way to import/export the metadata...
A raw text file seems a bit complicated, since the metadata fields can differ from demo to demo, perhaps something more along the lines of XML format? Or would perhaps some way of copying/pasting [the entire metadata] between multiple instances of the demo tool be sufficient enough?
I kind of like the idea of using XML... imagine uploading a demo somewhere along with the XML file, and having the website be able to read from said XML file. Of course the website could also just read the metadata from the demo file itself... but I'm just trying to expand upon the idea a bit, maybe give others something to think about. |

So you're talking about an "import aid". I like the idea.
No XML though EQ: it's not easy to write by hand, it's not simple to parse, and I'm not adding a whole library unless I have to. Some simple text format can do the trick (tab delimited or similar) and it's easy to produce/copy too. |

Yeah, import/export aid sounds fair It's nothing important, import/export should be a really LOW priority. For now I'm using Kilgore's suggestion and c/p between two editors
I wote for simple txt, comma/tab delimited |
