oh what? thanks Sami
this is kind of a prime example of what i was saying about some WADs going for a 'work-in-progress' review though.
sure the WAD in this case is 100% done, but i laid it out as an example for a minimalist project. it's my idea to upload the whole thing once all the maps are in. so that will mean this map will quite possibly end up getting 2 reviews and being hosted twice.
no need!
as for the review Gollum:
yes i used a sky. i didn't consider that out of bounds.
no, there was only one misalignment in there that i noticed afterwards. the 'others' were simply 'alignments that didn't match your aesthetic standards'
seriously. i didn't want to give all the staircases a uniform look.
and as for 'blocky'? heh, i should prob'ly take that as a compliment from you, right?
but well, my interpretation of the SILVER was to go for an industrial plant. 'blocky' felt right for that.
thanks for reviewing, hosting & uploading! |

The link for this map is dead as of the time of this post. Does anyone have a working download link to the wad/zip? |

What... the fecking... feck?
When I saw this thread had been dug up I thought perhaps it was tm512 looking for something old of mine to embarrass me with. But no, 'tis Julz! The mystery deepens
And what the hell, if people are poking around here - and because I'm unlikely to ever finish it - then here's as far as I got with a 'sequel'. The plan was to do even more with the silver theme, but use some sector colouring too. Hence you get colorado
The sky there is pretty rad. |

Hey that map has some interesting effects. I was just wanting to get my hands on this to see how the floor/ceiling effect was done in silverado.
I'm dabbling in mapping again. However, instead of working on something respectable that could be good, I find myself working on Mock Tribute again *yeah that project has been on the shelves for a long time now.
If anyone has some unreleased stupid bad or gimmicky maps, let me know and I'm probably willing to throw them in with the rest. |

Oh right. And I swear you asked me this before...
Anyways, hopefully you figured it out by now. Translucent middle textures offset into the floor or ceiling of a sector. Here is a better example. |
