I get this error whenever I try to play my map. First I thought that I have too much sidedefs but heh, 3886 isn't that much. Recent Zdooms don't crash. If you need the map for testing, ask and I will send it in PM.

I can back up Doomer's experience and I suspect that it may well be some recent screw-up to something or other as I had never in all my years of mapping seen this error before.

It just occured for me when I was messing around with one of my 3-way CTF maps. Thankfully I was literally just messing around on it - I was adding something just to see how it'd look and it wasn't a direction I wanted to pursue on that map anyway.

Likewise I can (probably) provide the problem map if need be.

Well, I don't know how recent the problem is, but for me, even 1.08.01 crashes just it doesn't give me any error messages.

Yes, you're right. I recreated my problem map and took it on a road test.

It only seems to be the 1.08 builds of Zdaemon that give this error message, all the others versions that I tried (1.06, 1.07, 1.09) simply crash out with a standard Windows 'There is a problem - need to close' message.

It does work on the current Zdoom, and it will also work on Zdaemon if I use Zennode (fast build), but that is quite impractical as Zennode creates glitches in a map of any size or complexity.

This seems to be an old Zdoom bug because 1.22 produces the crash too. It has been ported over to Zdaemon so this is an old stuff happening rarely.

just wanted to inform you that the problem has been fixed.
seems you guys hit a subsector limit and it turned to a
negative value (arithmetic overflow).

running dv.wad map05 will still not work,
but at least this particular limit got relaxed.

That's the end of this thread folks. We have brand new sections dedicated to bug tracking (where each bug will get its own thread). It's time to start using them.
